25 years in the making

Modern Kitchen

On April 1st, 1992, Pacific American Lumber started off with two guys, a small rented warehouse space, and a beat up Mazda pick-up truck.

It's 2017. We're 14 people strong, carry 7000 different products and deliver to the entire state of Hawaii. We've come a long way. Meet the team who makes it happen.

Brian Green

Brian "BG" assists the sales staff, does inventory control, is our safety advisor, and does everything else in between. At PAL for the past 16 years, his bubbly smile will be sure to brighten your day.

"Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will" - Zig Ziglar

Little known fact: Brian makes pens, and used to play the clarinet.

Chris Kincaid

Chris "Boss" is our master of spreadsheets and numbers. Which makes sense since he has a Masters of Science in Statistics and Mathematics. When he's not in the office with his numbers, he loves to go hunting or paddling. We get the added bonus of tasty venison for our tables.

"Work hard, play hard."

Little known fact: Chris can play the guitar.

Chris Nied

Chris "The Nicknamer" has a knack for... well... nicknaming people. This Iolani grad loves to travel and can speak French, Spanish, and Italian. He's starting to get the hang of Korean.

"The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me."

- Ayn Rand

Little known fact: Most of the people who walk into PAL have no idea Chris is one of the owners.

Well, they're going to know now!

DJ Alfapada

DJ has been with PAL since 2000 and he loves being able to work with all different types of customers here. When he's not helping with quality control with our flooring, he's out checking the quality of the waves all over the island.

"I don't want excuses, I want results."

Little known fact: DJ is in the process of rebuilding his 1958 Fargo pickup truck with his own two hands.

Ellis Abram

Ellis "Commodore" is our resident pirate, and has been with PAL since 2009. Say hi if you catch him sailing around Kailua and Kaneohe. Maybe toss a beer or two his way.

"If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called 'research,' would it?" - Albert Einstein

Little known fact: Ellis is a grandpa

Esaias Kamealoha Cuizon Stagner

Esaias "Shaggy" is probably the skinniest Samoan you'll meet. Also a Kalaheo grad, when he isn't at the beach or reminiscing about playing basketball for 10 years, this prankster is cracking jokes to spread laughter through the day.

"Realize your greatness and carry yourself accordingly. Don't be desperate, be patient and consistent!" - Tony A. Gaskins Jr.

Little known fact: Esaias loved KISS when he was a kid.

Jesse Santiago

Jesse "Jess, Portagee Horseshoe Master" is the man behind the scenes, making sure that everything runs smoothly in the warehouse. On Friday afternoons you can see him silently, and gleefully, challenging Chris Nied to a game of horseshoes. On his time off? Hunting buddy of Chris Kincaid's.

Joseph Pozo

Joe "JP, Pozo, Jo Po, Jojo" comes to us from Portland and has a good background in wood products. He should, since he went to the University of British Columbia for Wood Products Processing. His friendly face is one of the three you'll see when walking in the front office.

"The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price." - Benjamin Franklin

Little known fact: This avid golfer is a triplet (two sisters) and has a dual citizenship.

Nancy Byun

Nancy "Nancy Pants" started with PAL in 2016 and brings a certain flair to the team. If she isn't bridging the language gap with all our Korean customers, she's designing and producing all of our marketing materials you see on TV, in magazines, and on social media.

"You just have to trust your own madness." - Clive Barker

Little known fact: Nancy is a drummer, and used to be the only female member in a all-male punk rock band that toured in Japan.

Natascha Roblee

If you've visited us in the past 6 years you've probably met the very expressive Natascha "Whatever-whatever" either in the front desk or outside sales office. This lover of healthy eating will do her best to try and influence her coworkers to eat in the same manner, but it's hard with all the malasadas and manapuas that come our way. (Keep them coming.)

"Whatever, whatever."

Little known fact: Natascha is Nate's older sister.

Nathaniel Coelho

Nathaniel "Nate" will be another face you see frequently in our warehouse. If you don't see him out in the warehouse, you might catch him annoying Nancy in the front office.

"Life is good. Be happy."

Little known fact: Nate was a wrestler in high school.

Patricia Saito

Patricia "The Admiral" has been with PAL for 22 years. Our resident wine connoisseur's favorite thing about PAL is that everyone here works hard and plays hard.

"Enjoy life as much as possible."

Little known fact: Pat learned to cook from her dad. Her two sons now learn from her during family cooking sessions every Sunday.

Peter Lospoc

Pete "Diesel, Beast" may seem intimidating, but that big smile just shows what a big teddy bear he is. This Leilehua grad will randomly quote movies during the day and quiz his coworkers on movie facts.

"We are the music makers and we are the dreamers of dreams."

Little known fact: Peter knows tons of movie facts. Okay, maybe not so little of a known fact... but it's impressive!

Shelby Frank

Shelby "Shelbs", a Kamehameha grad just welcomed her beautiful daughter into the world in the spring of 2017. Shelby has been with PAL for three years, and loves to spend time with her family.

"Happiness is a choice. You can choose to be happy. There's going to be stress in life, but it's your choice whether you let it affect you or not."

Little known fact: Shelby can recite most Disney and Harry Potter movies word for word, and she loves to read.
