Gary Queen has been a resident of Kona and a member of the construction industry in Hawai’i for the past 24 years and licensed as a General Contractor since 1988. Gary founded Queen Construction, Inc. in 1993. Its administrative office is in Holualoa-Kona on the Big Island. The company’s accounting and administrative team work with the General Contractor to bring the highest level of professionalism and commitment to its clients. Queen Construction’s project management team delivers decades of diverse educational background and field experience.

Alex Bright has been pulling and delivering materials for almost three years, and has a strong understanding of many of the products we carry. His easy-going yet “can do” attitude has been a strength to our company.
Starting out as a summer employee between school semesters, Gary Cabanilla transitioned to full-time about a year ago. His sharp acuity has helped insure that orders go out correctly and in the right fashion. Gary’s always willing to help you choose the right product for your needs.
Whether it’s unloading a container, tallying a pile of lumber, or stacking ply wood, Matt Kurisu will put aside his work to help get your order. Always considerate of the customer’s needs, Matt is ready to show you what we stock, so you can buy the best.
Ryan Lum has been going to school while working and spent the summer perfecting his customer service skills here at PAL. Ryan is always ready to help out and is quickly learning what we carry. Feel free to ask him about our products, and he will get an answer for you.
Darren Silva just joined our crew and is quickly becoming a part of the PAL team. He is very conscientious about making sure your order is correct and to your liking. Please say hello to him the next time you drop by.

Tech Tips
A Little Care Goes a Long Way
Formica Solid Surface (FSS) is not only one of the most beautiful surfacing materials available today, but also one of the most durable. Listed below are simple tips to care for your FSS.
Normal Cleaning – Light Colors (Matte or Satin Finish)
- Wipe clean with a damp cloth or sponge
- Mild detergents or general-purpose cleaners can be used
- Abrasive cleaners like Ajax or Comet may also be used on Matte finish only
Normal Cleaning – Dark Colors (Semi-Gloss or Gloss Finish)
- Maintenance is generally limited to wiping with a mild detergent on a damp cloth or wiping dry
Some Simple Precautions
- Do not place hot pans directly from the burner or oven on the countertop surface. Prolonged or extreme heat could cause damage to the surface
- When pouring hot water into sink, always run warm water to reduce temperature extremes
- Do not use countertop as a cutting board
- Do not stand or sit on your countertop
